The Manufacture Parapluie de Cherbourg produces a “Bleuet de France”

Newspaper article from OUEST FRANCE dated March 12, 2021:

The production of the Bleuet de France umbrella began this Friday, March 12, 2021 at the manufacture Parapluie de Cherbourg, in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin (Manche).

“It’s wonderful work. You participate in a solidarity act.” Véronique Peaucelle-Delelis, Director General of the National Office for Veterans and War Victim, admires France’s first Bleuet umbrella. In collaboration with the company from Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, in Manche, the making of this new model began this Friday, March 12, 2021, at the factory Parapluie de Cherbourg in the city of the same name. Ten percent of the profits will be donated to Bleuet de France, which supports victims of war and acts of terrorism.

Sobriety and elegance. This is the image conveyed by this new umbrella with its navy blue dress, tricolor strap and cornflower-shaped embroidery.

The umbrella. An object that resonates with the values promoted by the national work. “It’s a very symbolic product. The umbrella protects us” explains Véronique Peaucelle-Delelis.

High quality protection, made in France. This is the main reason that nourished this collaboration. Mike Reglain, sales representative of the Normandy brand, agrees: “It’s craftsmanship, the umbrella is entirely handcrafted. “
